MyKoreaWork processes personal information within the scope necessary for job seeker registration, eligibility review, consultation, employment matching, and post-employment follow-up.
1. Personal Information Collected
At registration and consultation we collect: name, date of birth, gender, nationality, contact details (phone·email) and the messenger channels you enter (KakaoTalk·WhatsApp·LINE·Telegram·WeChat·Instagram·Facebook), current place of residence, visa status and stay expiry date (foreign nationals), Korean level and TOPIK grade, languages, previous job type, work duration, experience, certificates, preferred industry, preferred work area, available days, preferred work hours, desired hourly wage, shift availability, dormitory (housing) need, work type (staying a month or longer at one site), and inquiry/consultation details. If you register directly, you may also upload a profile photo and portfolio files (images·PDF). When you create an account we collect your email address and password; if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and Google account identifier from Google.
2. Purpose of Processing
- Job seeker registration
- Eligibility review
- Consultation and communication
- Employment matching
- Post-employment follow-up and record keeping
- Responding to inquiries
3. Retention Period
Personal information is retained for the period required by applicable laws or internal policies, and then destroyed. When you request account withdrawal, use of your account and personal information stops immediately, and your data is destroyed without delay after a 30-day grace period. However, the minimum records that must be retained under other laws (such as the Employment Security Act — for example, the worker roster and cash ledger) are kept separately from other personal information for the period those laws require.
4. Third-Party Sharing and External Services
Where needed to proceed with employment matching, and within the scope you consent to, your name, contact details, nationality, experience, and preferred conditions may be shared with prospective employers. Employers may use the information only to review you for hiring, and it is retained only as long as needed for that purpose. We do not share your personal information with any other job-placement agency (staffing office). For service operation, server hosting, uploaded-file storage, and encryption-key management are entrusted to Google Cloud Platform.
5. Sensitive Document Submission
We do not request sensitive documents (passport, ARC, etc.) during initial chat. If needed, a separate official process will be provided. Submitted documents can be viewed only by staff who have passed administrator authentication, and any unique identification numbers they contain are stored separately in encrypted form.
6. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You may request access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information, or withdraw consent, at any time using the contact in Section 7 — we will act without delay, and if the law limits access we will tell you why. Requests may also be made through an authorized representative. If you have an account, you can edit your information or request account deletion directly from your account screen after logging in.
