What Exactly Is MyKoreaWork?

MyKoreaWork is a licensed Korean job-matching office built specifically for foreign workers already living in Korea. Registering and talking to us costs nothing. It is run by a Korea-certified vocational counselor, not by an algorithm, and every profile that comes in is read by a person before anything happens with it.

Why does this matter? Because the traditional way of finding work in Korea — asking friends, paying brokers, walking into factories — is inefficient and sometimes dangerous. Whether you're looking in Seoul or regional cities, you deserve verified options. Unlicensed operators charge fees for jobs that may not exist — a properly licensed agency can show you its registration if you ask. Friends only know about a handful of openings. And walking into random factories? You have no idea if they're legitimate.

MyKoreaWork works differently. We check your visa against what a role actually allows before that role is ever put in front of you, so you are not applying for work that would put your status at risk. No surprises, no illegal situations.

Who Can Use It?

If you meet these two conditions, you're eligible:

You're a foreign national currently living in Korea
You hold a visa that allows the work we place — F-4, F-2, F-5, F-6, existing H-2, and G-1-6 (humanitarian stay) with a work permit. Note that H-2 stopped being issued in February 2026, so new ethnic-Korean arrivals come in on F-4
Statuses we cannot place you on, and we would rather say so plainly — E-7, E-3, D-10, F-3, D-2 and D-4. The work we handle is day-labour, short-term and on-site residential placement, and those statuses are not permitted to take it. G-1-5 (asylum applicant) is a separate case: even with a work permit, construction and manufacturing are excluded, which is most of what we place. If you are on one of these, we will tell you rather than keep your profile sitting in a queue

Important: MyKoreaWork is not for overseas recruitment. We don't handle visa sponsorship or bring workers into Korea. This is strictly for people who are already here and looking for better opportunities.

One more thing about E-9: MyKoreaWork does not place E-9 workers or handle E-9 applications — that track runs entirely through government channels (Work24 and your local Employment Center). How Does the Matching Work?

Step 1: Create Your Profile

Sign up at mykoreawork.com and fill in your basic information: visa type, location, work experience, skills, and preferred job type. The entire interface is available in 20 languages — you don't need to read Korean to use it.

Pro tip: be specific about your skills. "Factory work" is vague. "CNC machine operation — 3 years experience" gets you matched with higher-paying positions.

Step 2: A Real Person Reads Your Profile

This is where we differ from a job board, and honestly it is the part we are proudest of. There is no algorithm firing your profile at a hundred companies. A licensed vocational counselor reads it and works out two things: what your visa actually permits, and which of the two tracks below fits you.

The line that decides everything is not what kind of work it is — it is how long you stay at one site.

Day-labour and short-term — factory, warehouse, catering, construction sites and the like, where a site needs people by the day. We either match you ourselves or connect you to the verified local partner who covers that area and knows which sites are actually hiring this week.
On-site residential — one site, one month or longer, continuously. Often somewhere the local labour pool cannot fill, with accommodation provided. We handle these ourselves, anywhere in the country.

That is the whole catalogue. We do not do professional or career-track hiring, and we do not do visa status changes — not because they are unimportant, but because telling you we do something we do not would be worse than saying no.

We contact you when there is a real match. You will not get a stream of notifications for jobs that were never going to fit.

Step 3: Apply and Connect

Found a role that interests you? You go to the interview as yourself, and your salary is paid by the employer straight into your own Korean bank account. Nobody stands between you and your wages.

What Makes It Different from Other Job Sites?

Fair question. Here's what you won't find on generic Korean job boards:

Visa verification — Every role is checked against your specific visa type. You won't waste time applying for jobs you're not legally allowed to take

What if I'm on an E-9 visa?
E-9 placement and workplace transfers run through the Employment Permit System at your local Employment Center, not through private agencies — MyKoreaWork does not place E-9 workers or handle E-9 applications. And to be straight with you: we are not the right people for the E-7-4 upgrade either. That is a status change, which belongs to an administrative scrivener or lawyer, and E-7 roles are outside what we place. How long does matching take?
It depends on your visa, your location and what you can do. We would rather not put a number on it — some areas and trades move quickly, others have nothing suitable for weeks, and a timeline we cannot control is not a promise worth making. The one part you control is your profile, and a detailed one genuinely makes a difference.
